When you have replaced CD-ROM Drive on the product with ATAPICD.SYS V.1.0L18 and before, it is better to replace to latest ATAPICD.SYS together with. The ATAPICD.SYS V.1.0L23 is a latest version and not fully compatible with very beginning products which are serial number 4I**** and 4J****.
1. Check the version number of the ATAPICD.SYS using ATAPIVER.COM or stop scrolling boot up messages.
e.g. A:\ATAPIVER C:\DOS{SYMBOL 191 \f "Symbol"}
2. If the version is V1.0L18 or before, copy attached ATAPICD.SYS to C:\DOS.
e.g. A:\COPY ATAPICD.SYS C:\DOS{SYMBOL 191 \f "Symbol"}
3. Confirm the version number is V.1.0L23 using ATAPIVER.COM.
